Austin Miller
Speed & Strength Coach
Austin Miller is HPAC’s resident speed, power, and movement coach. Originally from Herndon, VA, Austin grew up playing lacrosse, basketball, and running track before committing to track and field at High Point University, where he competed in the pole vault and on the 4x400m relay. Between 2013 and 2016, he became a four-time Big South Conference Champion.
Despite never qualifying for the NCAA Championships, Austin continued training with the goal of competing on the world stage. Today, Austin is a professional pole vaulter, the 2025 USA Track & Field National Champion, and a World Championships representative for Team USA in Tokyo. He was also an Olympic Trials finalist in both 2021 and 2024.
Since 2016, Austin has raised his personal best from 17’2” to 19’5” — the sixth-highest mark in the world in 2025 and tied for 45th all time. He credits patience, problem-solving, determination, curiosity, and a supportive community for his climb from average to elite.
More than an athlete, Austin has coached pole vault, sprints, and lacrosse in the Triad area and online since 2017. He designs training programs for athletes that emphasize speed, power, movement fluency, and efficiency. His approach blends elite-level experience with an educator’s eye for technical detail and long-term athlete development.
